Does it really exist?
Whenever I met someone in the past claiming they have a 6th sense (getting into someone else's head and truly reading their mind like a JEDI KNIGHT, Xmen or talking to the dead, to name but a few examples) they always unwittingly expose themselves after early questions from a skeptic like myself.
For starters I'm truly ambidextrous. As far as I can remember I've always been able to write with both hands equally. When I did sports at school such as football I would kick the ball equally with both feet. If I played tennis I remember having two forehands or any other sport using the hands and I could come up with many other examples.
Once I got into my teen years and realised how rare this was all I could think of was how many other people are like me. A teacher at school (he was in his 40s or 50s at the time) would watch me with fascination writing with both hands equally and at the same speed. He once told me he'd never met anyone before who could do this, making me very rare.
Firstly I wanted to know what percentage of my country could do this, then I wanted to know what percentage of the world population were like me. I periodically Googled this subject and looked for articles in many different places on the internet and in my local library. There wasn't that much about it but I did eventually find what I was looking for.
Someone truly having six senses must also be very rare. So why is it whenever I ask anyone claiming they have a 6th sense, 'what percentage of any given population has 6th sense?' They always without fail give me the answer, or words to the effect of, 'I don't know I've never really thought about it'. Ask yourself, if you're reading this article, wouldn't you want to know who else had a 6th sense? In the x men films some of them spent much of their time trying to find others like them.
We had James Randi (until 2020) who made a career of exposing people, in fact he offered $1,000,000 of his own money for anyone displaying any kind of sixth sense. He lived to the ripe old age of 92 with that offer on the table for over 50 years. Over 1,000 people came forward but not one of them could display anything resembling 6th sense capability. These people would be categorised as delusional. Someone, either a family member or a friend, has told them they're psychic and they've decided it must be true. These people would have a whole range of excuses for not displaying 6th sense capability when I asked them, the excuses were usually, it only works when it's hot or cold, when I'm angry or calm, but the most common excuse I've come across is that the authorities might kidnap me.
In addition Randi exposed many famous charlatans who forged very successful careers in the industry until caught out. I don't necessarily need to name them but these people would use a whole host of excuses for not accepting a challenge and the chance to make $1,000,000.
One other thing I wish someone would answer for me. A 6th sense for the human race would be an evolutionary advantage but if only a small percentage of our species have it then who or what decides the type of person that gets this extra sense? We all live in roughly the same types of environments, which afterall, is where the senses are honed in.
I came to the conclusion that, after doing my own research on this topic, there is no such thing as a 6th sense apart from in the movies.
During the lockdown of 2020 I started to take an interest in ANIMATION development. I don't know why because I've never shown an interest in this field before. The idea was I would make short films and perhaps put them on youtube and or elsewhere. I sought out then spent some time studying the most popular, which seemed to be Blender, Maya and Unreal Engine plus their many versions. What did become apparent about all of these tools is (especially from a filmmaking point of view) none of them could be used without outside help. I can't remember following a youtube tutorial where the tutor didn't use one of the above, let's say Unreal Engine, then halfway through take the project to Blender to do something or other then go back to Unreal Engine. I became increasingly frustrated with this approach. After I finished studying I decided on Unreal Engine purely because Maya, although quite useful, priced themselves out of the market for small independent filmmakers and B...
